Summer is a busy time in the garden. Lots of things are growing, blooming, ripening, and fluttering around the lush landscape.  Even in these peaceful times a gardener must stay vigilant and keep up with maintaining their natural paradise. Here are 6 ways you can get started on your perfect summer garden!

English Garden

Ditch the Dead Weight

  • Deadheading spent blooms, weeding, and removing dead plants are all important tasks that improved the overall health and tidiness of your garden.

Pest Control

  • Getting rid of noxious insects and animals can prove to be a never-ending fight, but with the right ‘good’ bugs on your team, some quality organic repellents, and proper vigilance, managing disease and pests is a breeze!

Harvest Away!

  • Whether you’re growing vegetables or flowers, summer is the perfect time to pluck ripened fruits and full blooms. Do not let fruits linger too long on the plant as it slows down production and might even shorten or end the season for your edible garden.

Water, Water Everywhere

  • While some plants are built to take dry climates, many others need extra help to survive the heat of summer. Make sure to water thoroughly and often. Manager your irrigation systems so that they can handle finicky summer storms as well as drought conditions.

Food for plot

  • Seeing yellow leaves? Growing nutrient needy vegetables? Fertilizer to the rescue! Summer is a great time to give your garden nutrients which encourages healthy, continuous growth and production.

Thank You Very Mulch

  • Mulch is a true VIP in the garden. It insulates soil and protects tender roots from heat, chokes out weeds, and helps conserve soil moisture and limit erosion. Treat your landscape to a thick layer of mulch and then sit back and enjoy its many benefits.
