Top Five Petaled Flowers

Why do we find five pointed flowers so delightful? Is it because when playing “He loves me-he loves me not” we’ll always get the best answer at the end? Or maybe because their simplicity reminds us of attempting (with varying success) at drawing flowers as children? Well, whatever the reason, they have a certain charisma that just can’t be ignored.  That’s why we just had to bring you our list of favorite five petaled flora.

Kate Dianthus

Now here’s a flower with real star power!  From its feathered edges to its blushing pink and painted crimson patterning, This Dianthus outshines the rest. Being a fiery five-pointed flower with some serious moxie can’t be easy – Superstar just makes it look that way.

Havana Blues Geranium

Maybe it’s the delicate violet veins tracing each lavender petal, or how proudly this tiny yet determined flower sports its generous blooms, but this is one of the loveliest Geraniums  we’ve witnessed. The perfect mix of classic form and unique color, Havana Blues is sure to win your heart as it has ours.

Bright Eyes Phlox  While from a distance this Phlox may seem like one solid mass of cotton candy, it is made up of tiny star like flowers. The clusters create attractive pink constellations, but each star is lovely on its own.  These candy like blooms bring out the kid in us and that innocent feeling has won Bright Eyes a place on our list.

Fiji Rose of Sharon

This Hibiscus is a tropical vacation for the eyes. Just looking at its broad white petals kissed with magenta fills you with a desire for white beaches and clear waters. You might not make it to Fiji anytime soon, but this five petaled flower will happily help you escape to paradise right in your garden.

Black Diamond Lenten Rose

‘Difficult’ doesn’t even begin to cover how hard it was to choose a favorite out of our stunning Lenten Roses, but in the end Black Diamond won the day. Its uncommonly dark petals will ensnare your gaze and pull you in to its pale, almost glowing green and white stamen. Like something out of a fairy tale, this gem magically blooms in late winter, its dark petals contrasting beautifully with the stark white winter landscape. With this Winter Jewel you might feel a bit richer just looking at it.
