There is just something about these green flowers that is incredibly impressive. Many of the new items in the Wayside Gardens Fall Gardening 2007 catalog will catch your eye but the first photos I noticed were the beautiful green blossoms.
Amaryllis Evergreen, on page 93, is an amazing plant, great for the holidays, with impressive, unmistakable large green blooms. This is said to be the greenest flower on an amaryllis, and I believe it. It is zoned for USDA 8-11, but it won’t matter because you’ll probably be growing this beauty indoors.
There are two green Echinaceas offered this fall. On the very first page of the catalog you will see Echinacea Coconut Lime, a double bloomer that harkens back to the ever-popular Razzmatazz, but with bi-colored green and white petals. And, on page 61, the color-changing Green Envy steels the show. This cone flower starts a beautiful lime green, and as it matures a deep maroon peeps out from the center of the bloom.
